Occasionally we are asked why we chose the name "0-0-0Checkmate" for our business.

Back in 1996 when we started 0-0-0Checkmate as one of the first gift stores online, our initial products were a bunch of puzzles and games--and they are still some of the most popular products we offer!

Of course, you may have noticed that over the years we have expanded our web site from games and puzzles to much, much more. We picked things we liked and we do hope you like them as well.

Secondly, we love Chess! What does Chess have to do with 0-0-0Checkmate?  Well, similar to our original dreams for our web store, "0-0-0Checkmate" is a chess move that is unique, exciting, and memorable !
